Placement Suggestion: These need to be at least a foot off the floor, and at least 18 inches from walls behind or to the sides. They won't sound very good placed against walls- the bass will be muddy and possibly boomy.

Listening is best done with speakers straight ahead - toe in should not be needed. Best detail and imaging will be achieved if the speaker is placed at a height where the tweeter is just above the listener's ears, or if the speaker is on a lower stand, the speaker can be tilted back a little to aim just above the listener's ears. This gives not only the best treble detail, but good upper midrange as well. Of course these are just suggestions for a starting point, your room is different and you may find a different placement which works best for you.

I suggest 35 to 100 watts of amplifier power; use a good amplifier, these speakers will reward owners of high quality amplifiers. I have used both solid state and tube amplifiers with these speakers and enjoyed the result. What I've found is that tubed amplifiers provided a deeper soundstage while bass was less well controlled. With a good solid state amp you'll get a precise soundstange and taut low end. My favorite configuration was a 100 watt per channel solid state amp for the bass and a ~30 watt tube amp for the high frequency driver using the DSP crossover for biamp operation. With this setup, I got the best of both worlds.

Detail of interior showing generous application of 1.25" thick SONIC BARRIER on internal walls and bracing structure to reduce internal midrange reflections and damp panel vibration

Other Construction notes:

All drivers flush mounted to front baffle

Front baffle has rounded edges to reduce diffraction

All internal wiring is AWG#14 OFC stranded copper
